ROCKS

On the West side of our house, grass will not grow because of the trees and the slope of the land. Every time it rained a more dirt washed away and ditches got deeper. About year ago I got a few rocks and placed them from the property line to about 3 feet up the hill. These rocks stopped the washing and loosing of dirt but the area between the rocks and the driveway still could not grow grass and really looked bad. My friends Coy and Lora harvested some rocks from his acerage in Eastern Oklahoma. He loaded them into his trailer and sent me home with lots of rocks. Within 24 hours I had the rocks unloaded and placed on the ground. I moved some of the old rocks so the different rocks would not be so noticable. I completed the rock placement last night about 9:30 PM. I was very hot and tired but I thought it looked good.

I got up this morning and looked again and was very happy with the way the rocks looked. It not only looks great but it will stop the washing away of the dirt.

When parking on the West side of the driveway and got out of the car, it was quite a drop from the edge of the driveway and the dirt. Looked ugly too. Now when youo get out of a car on the edge of the drive the rocks, which are really solid, will give you a place to stand. Will not get muddy in the rain.

Thanks to Coy and Lora the dirty old wash out is now looking good.

What A Place

Stepping into the Garage the thing that catches your attention is the party boat. It is a very large and pretty party boat.

A four wheeler. Very large and looks like it would go very fast. Four wheel drive.

This is the small lawn mower. I say small because he has another one, Bad Boy brand that is very big.

Out in his garage playing. Everyone is out in the garage.

A wood burner heater. Coy said this heater heats the garage during the coldest winter days. If they open the house door it heats up the house too.

Inside of the Party Boat. The chairs are actually recliners. Confortable.

Instrument console. I guess you have to be a skipper to know what everything is.

There is a satilite radio that sounds great.

Looking down from the party boat. It is really big. It was so high I was afraid to stand near the edge.

This window is to another bedroom upstairs. I would like a window in every room, I don't care what it looks like.

We drove around the lake. It is larger than I thought. Coy said the water was clear. This is a great scuba diving lake.

Lake Tinkiller

Dam, the Dam......

The lake is at least 28 miles long and about 1 mile wide for the entire 28 miles. A nice lake.

We drove around part of the lake. We didn't go around the lake, it would take too long so we just drove a small part of it.

Everywhere you look there is water. Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink.

13,000 acres of clear water and 130 miles of shore line. What a lake. 10 marinas and 20 parks.

This is a view from a home built on the side of a mountain . The lake looks like a great river.

There were boats everywhere. Not one part of the lake didn't have at least one boat and most had 5 or more.

This is just one of the boat loading areas. Every one there is no additional parking. The lake is full every weekend.

This is the best lake in the State Of Oklahoma. This is my first time to see Tinkiller Lake.

Below the dam is the best Trout fishing in the State. The water is cool enough they can fish for trout most year round.

Next time I come down I will bring my fishing pole. It is one of the best fishing lakes in Oklahoma.

There are homes for sale in view of the lake. I inquired about one of these homes and it was over $300,000 dollars. No place to park. Just a nice house on less than a lot.

People everywhere on the lake. Lots of boats. I bet the beer is cold too.

Coy and Lora. We were inside a home being built with a wonderful view.

An island that is only accessable by boat. There are several islands on this lake. Looks more like a river than a lake.

The big Bad Boy mower. He can mow an acre in about 30 minutes. It cuts a 60" wide cut each round. If you don't like spending lots of time this is what you need to mow a lawn.

The Ranger vehlicle. I drove this around the property to see what everything looked like. If you live on an acerage you need one of these to haul things around

Benita and I are coming back in 4 or 5 weeks and will float the river. I have always heard of this trip but have never got to go on it myself. We are also wanting to come back when it is cooler to go out on Coy's boat. Wow, what a wonderful place.

Best Friends

I am back.
My best friend Coy Ivey purchased an acerage near Tinkiller Lake. In fact he is only about 2 miles from the lake. He built a big metal barn and then built his house inside the barn. The house is really beautiful in the inside. Only thing I would do different would to put more windows in. He said he wanted a few windows so it would not take so much to heat and cool the home.

A wonderful place. This is the road cominig to his house. A good gravel road. What a view.

Beside the house he has thinned the trees and made a great forest. Walking around the trees is really cool.

He has a fire pit that he can burn the wood that he gathers from the trees and construction around the place. Cook hotdogs and marshmellows.

He took two stock tanks and filled them with soil and planted plants in them.

The two flower beds are by the Fire Pit.

He has a hammock and some chairs for every one to sit around the fire pit.

The front of the house is neat. There is a balcony on the second floor that comes out of the Master Bedroom. The house is over 2,000 square feet. Probably more. It is huge.

Isn't this pretty. The bottom floors are concrete that was stained and cut. In the picture above you can see the outside stain in diamond shapes. It gives me a good idea when we build.

Coy has more toys than anyone I know. He has three trailers that I saw. Everyone needs a trailer if they are going to build homes and live on an acerage.

Toys, toys, toys. He has boats, go carts, four wheel cycles, a four wheel small carryall. I will try to get more pictures of the toy later. n

The back of the house. It has a huge garage door. Two satilite dishes, one for internet and one for television.

Toy Tracter. It has a big back hoe and he also has all the equipment attachments to go with it.

The front of the garage had doors for very large three car garage. He could drive a big tractor trailer inside the garage. It is the largest garage for a home I have ever seen.

Elephant Ears and Cannas. Growning great. Better than in town.

Standing on their front porch looking out. What a sight. I love this place.
