2010 Christmas

Another good year for celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Justin decorated our tree and wrapped all the presents under it.

What a beautiful tree and the presents were great to wake up to this morning.
We never want Mom to know what she is getting for Christmas.
So we wrap it so it is completely unrecognizable
This is just a retangular box.
She thought it looked like a replica of our tractor.
Mom always unwraps things slow, I guess to savor the moment.

It wasn't a replica of our tractor. I think she likes it.

Wow. She got a Nook Book. I don't think she was expecting to get a Nook although we knew she wanted one. She then asked me if I got her a Nook cover. I told her they were too expensive, I couldn't afford both. She said she understood.

"Hey! No wonder you didn't buy me a cover, My daughter got me one. I love it"

It is red.

The color she wanted. Wonder how her daughter knew.
I can tell you.

.... A NUT DOES NOT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE....

My turn to open a gift from Benita.

They tied the stupid tie string in a knot that I could not untie. Benita had it done in a second.

Well, I was really surprised. Several years ago I had a bread baking machine. I made some bread that was a flop and the bread look awful also. I left the bread on the counter and left the ugly bread on the cooling rack to cool before removing the mixing device. Benita sat the ugly bread and threw it in the trash and by the time I returned home the garbage collection people had it picked up and gone. Every time we went to a store after that I would show her a bread baking oven and remind her I did not have one. This one is better than the first and now I will start baking bread again. I love home baked fresh bread.

What an idea I had. Benita ordered a instruction DVD about how to do some type of sewing. It came in December 23 and I just put a bow on it and put it under the tree. This is the first she saw it.

Benita loves dragonflies. She has several different kinds around the house. Justin gave here these wall hanging dragonflies. There are 24 dragonflies she can hang on the wall.

Benita opened the next gift from me. It is a LG solar powered hand free device for her car so she can talk on the phone without hanging on to the phone. She can also call numbers by saying the name or number.

This is something she asked for. A cell telephone charger so she can charge her phone in her car. Justin got her a beautiful necklace. Another unexpected surprise. This is something I have never seen before. A stainless steal wallet. Guaranteed not to wear out.

I just opened a aluminum credit card wallet. I wanted something other than another leather wallet for my back pocket. This one is OSU orange... Go Cowboys.

I have collected Police replicas of all kinds for several years now. This is the first police nutcracker I have ever seen. I love it and it will look good in my collection. Thank you Justin.

Justin got me two good bread baking books. I have read both of them already and am ready to start baking bread.

After all presents were opened, Justin was off to work, Benita was back asleep, my daughter called me on Skipe and we visited. I got to see most of their Christmas Presents. We will get together on Skipe again tonight and I will get to see everything.

Merry Christmas everyone. I am blessed with such a wonderful family.

I finally got my camera back. It was lost in California for over two months. The young lady that fouond the camera called every name in my camera bag until she found someone that knew me.

Benita and I have been looking for a few acres to purchase. It has been a struggle finding what we wanted. We finally found the land we wanted and made an offer yesterday. Today we can to an agreement on the price and the closing date was set for February 1. What a place. 20 acres more or less and all just what we wanted. There is about 5 acres of pasture and 5 acres of heavy wooded area.

Belos are a few views of the property wich will be our home.

Isn't it pretty. I cannot wait until February 1st so we can start getting it ready for our new house.

Tractor Work

Justin is driving a tractor for the first time. He is a natural at this kind of work.

Picking up his first load of dirt.
Carrying it to the place to dump it.
JG operating the equipment. This is going to be a family affair. Only problem is getting Justin and JG off of the tractor so I can play too.
Leveled up the dirt around the small trees.
I guess tractor work runs in the family She is doing a good job too.
Justin is going after another loade of trash and dirt.
I wish I could drive the tractor. Everyone wants to do the work and let BoomPa rest.
Justin has a full bucket full of dried grass and dirt. Moving it to the burn pit.

Dumping the load into the burn pit. He made the job look easy.

Grandmother and Grandfather Day at School With Jordan

Jordan's class had a Grandparents day. JG and I attended. This is Jordan's teacher. I cannot imigine anyone wanting to spend everyday with 15 to 20 4 year olds, but she had them towing the line. It was great.
Jordan eating Cookies Jordan and JG having cookies and a drink.
Look at Jordan's eyes. He is egar to please and eager to learn.
Jordan sitting in the circle singing and entertaining the grandparents.

Jordan was the most polite and best child in the class. If all were like him the teacher would not have very many problems.
Outside the classroom they have a picture of everyone in the class. Jordan is showing me his picture.

JG is reading Jordan a book. I listened also and enjoyed it. We read Humpty Dumpty and and a Dr. Seuss book. I really liked the Dr Seuss book.
Most if the time it was just JG and Jordan. Jordan loved having books read to him. He did not want to quit. I think he would sit and listen all day.

Jordan is making a handpring with a poem for us. He wanted to make it in red but there was not any red so he made it in blue.
